The Australian patented technology of the Shield tapware system is the first interchangeable wall mixer design which is 6 star WELS rated for water efficiency. A New Approach to Mixers

Changing the colour and style of your wall mixers has never been easier. No longer do you need to knock down walls to replace the entire valve and turret cover. The new Barben Shield system  changes everything. Shield is a unique valve system that incorporates a dynamic waterproofing sleeve and O-ring innovation. It allows you to slide on different coloured turret sleeves and change your mixer style in seconds – all from the front of the wall.

How Does Shield Work?

Our patented process whereby we lock-tite an outer waterproofing flange to the valve not only provides a 3^rd degree of waterproofing, but is also predominantly designed to allow the waterproofing membrane to run right up to the waterproofing sleeve. This will ensure none of the membrane comes into contact with the turret body. Once the waterproofing is complete and the tiles are fixed to the wall surface, the waterproofing sleeve can be cut down flush with the tiled surface allowing for ease of installation with the turret body cover, cover plate and handle.

This new technology will maintain the integrity of the water-proofing membrane providing peace of mind for the end user. Unlike any other design available, the Shield Tapware design can then have the colour of the turret body changed without having to remove tiles, wall sheeting and or waterproofing. This allows the end user the freedom of being able to change the entire colour palette of their tapware all from front of wall. This is an ideal scenario for unit and home-owners that would like to keep on trend with interior finishes without the exorbitant costs and hassles of engaging multiple trades. It is also an ideal solution for hotels to allow them to follow modern design trends whether it be a change of colour and or cover plate and handle design. The Shield Tapware can be modified to include a DDA handle design in both the standard or inverted handle position.

All the colour finishes applied to the Shield Tapware are PVD coated so you can be assured of the longevity of the finish. There are 6 PVD colour finishes (Matt Black, Satin Nickel, Gunmetal, Satin Copper, Satin Brass) available as well as Chrome.

To change the colour and style of your wall mixer with the rest of your tapware, simply:

1. Remove the handle
2. Undo the retaining nut
3. Slide off the turret colour and sleeve
4. Replace with an all-new style
